W H Barley News
We Have Lift-Off !!!
Only 22 days since the launch of their online booking system, W H Barley (Transport & Storage) Limited, are proud to announce that over half of its current clients are reaping the benefits presented by the online system.

Members of our team have been busy providing training to our valued customers. In truth with a system that requires no software installation and works through a standard web browser our customers have commented on just how easy it is to use.
Not only has booking freight services with us been simplified, a high level of positive feedback has been generated by the comprehensive Job Tracking service. Customers can instantly track a consignment and using integrated mapping technologies are provided with real-time vehicle locations and distance to destination - all from their own computer.
All Systems Are Go !!!
W H Barley proudly announces its decision to replace its existing back-office systems and introduce a completely new suite as of 1st February 2008.
Further to a period of assessment and discussion with many specialist vendors, Haultech have been selected to provide a comprehensive Traffic & Warehouse Management Systems which will revolutionalise how the business operates.
After intensive testing, Haultech successfully won the commitment of W H Barley when it became clear that Haultechs systems provided the greatest opportunity for W H Barley to significantly enhance and improve further the already high level of service it provides to its valued customers.
Once live, transport customers will be presented with a wider range of tools - including the ability to book their pallet distribution requirements online, receive immediate confirmation of order receipt, print barcoded pallet labels and through the Online Tracking system customers can monitor their freight bookings "real-time" throughout the collection/delivery cycle*.
Existing transport customers login credentials have been transferred to this new system in anticipation of the 1st February, 2008 but, our current Online POD system will continue to operate as normal during the time leading into launch. Once the system goes live a greatly enhanced interface will become available and presented to those logging on to the portal.
We will soon be announcing details of our new online warehouse system - providing our warehouse/storage customers with a comprehensive portal to book in deliveries, access "up to the minute" stock figures, and book goods for onwards delivery. More details will follow very soon.
For now though, no action is required of existing transport customers - the transition will be seamless and will not disrupt our service in any way. You will be contacted in the coming weeks to schedule an appointment with a member of our customer services team and they will present first hand to you the range of enhancements which the new system will bring, the benefits for you and your business and of course full training will be offered at that time.
If you are as eager as we are and wish to be among the first to use the new portal then please do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly arrange your appointment.
Management Changes
After 40 years at the helm, Peter Barber has relinquished his role as Managing Director of W H Barley (Transport & Storage) Limited, to become Chairman of the company.
The reins have been passed to Steve Latchford who joined W H Barley two years ago from Palletline Plc. Steve has considerable experience within the industry and he looks forward to continuing to build on Peters successes.
Another very important appointment was the promotion of Clive Keech to Financial Director. Peter Barber stated, "Clive has been with us for 13 years and is a well respected figure in the world of finance. Clive was previously self-employed and prior to that was the Financial Controller at Denverglaze Plc."
"..these are exciting times, and I wish both Steve and Clive success for the future. Thank you all for your loyal support."
Running Legal
W H Barley now utilises the automated tachograph analysis provided by Road Tech Computers System software - Tachomaster.
This software allows us to read, store and analyse Digital Tachograph Cards and Analogue Charts, so the transition to collecting and analysing Digital Tachograph data from our drivers and vehicles couldn't be easier.
Tachomaster also caters for the Road Transport Directive and our Tachograph data is automatically validated against the Road Transport Directive rules.
